From the diaries of Adam and eve (1995)

A 30-minute dramatic song cycle for soprano, baritone, and piano with texts by Mark Twain. Often whimsical and sometimes deeply moving, Twain’s brilliant and witty texts come to life in this four-movement work. From their puzzlement about each other (and their unexpected offspring) to their eventual deep love and painful losses, the narrative serves as a beautiful metaphor for all the relationships of life. The musical setting supports the drama beautifully while providing the player with some fun and challenging passages. Works effectively in recital or as a semi-staged production.
