the quest (2017)
This piece is part of my National Park Series.
This work was commissioned by the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival with support from the Rasmussen Foundation. It was inspired by the Yukon Quest dog sled race run every year between Whitehorse and Fairbanks.
World premiere performance of "The Quest" by Stephen Lias. Commissioned by the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival to commemorate the 2017 Yukon Quest dog sled race. Performed by Andie Springer (violin), Bryan Hall (violin), Maureen Heflinger (viola), Charly Akert (cello), Katie Cox (flute), Mara Mayer (clarinets), Ian Scarfe (piano), and Joseph Bergen (percussion).
